Feeling really sentimental!

This is the kist l inherited from my mom. My doll in red is 60 yrs old. Raggedy Ann at least 15 yrs old and a singer l recently bought that needs some attention. The walking stick was also my moms.
Two cross stitch projects l have now mounted and they match perfect without me realizing it until now. Also the pincushion that was a Christmas snow ball that my sister sent me. The glass ball broke during the journey.  l love how l made it into this and not throw it out.
Inherited this from my stepfather and it was in their house when he was small.
My crazy quilt all hand stitched by me 10 years ago. The round table was bought just after we got married 50 yrs ago! The cloth on table is also one of those preprinted pieces from many yrs ago.
Wow never realized l have so many old valuables around the house!

Bath time for Coco!

Its a lovely sunny day and we first went for a beach walk which she thoroughly enjoyed! So she needed a wash to get the salty water and sand off. Well here is Coco all wet and rolling in the grass to dry! Bad hair day!
Her hair dried quickly and niw nice and clean. Will need a hair cut to open her view. She is now starting to get used to not having Lucky around and her feisty personality is coming out.

Projects completed!!!!!

I have always wanted to make one of these, and at last I got a pattern on the net and this is my own adaptation of the strawberry. This is for my daughters Christmas tree. Love to make a tree ornament every year. Now to make mine!

Finished this quilt for my oldest grandson whom turned 21 years old this year. He has a huge collection of John Deere tractors. And is now working and getting paid to work on the tractors.

Just had to color my own Aida and did it with fabric paint and now nicely ironed and ready to stitch!!!

Now onto my next quilt for another grandson. Then I have made a quilt for each 4 grandsons.
My hands are now playing up as this quilt is very heavy and taking some needed rest. Will work on some light stitching for a few days.

We have been through a lots the past few weeks, hubby had a back operation and its been very difficult to keep him busy and then Lucky our dog got sick. Well he sadly had to be put down because of kidney failure and I suspect he had lots of pain. Now hubby is well on the road to recovery and has started a bit of driving. We are so thankful for all the rain we had but it put hubby in a bit of depression and we had to have garden services cut the lawn but they could not because its was too rainy and it seems hubby started to get antsy about it and luckily for me the  garden service arrived and cut the lawn. Now he seems to be able to move more and is going to attempt to cut it himself slowly. He also can't read for long and that also drove me crazy. Thank goodness I have my handwork to keep me sane and an excuse to spend time on all my projects! oh well alls much better and we have now had 2 days sun and he is brightening up Thanks The Lord for carrying us through all this.

A new quilt started!

Still embroidering on my hexi's
Needed a smaller vinyl bag for my threads.
Well l started another quilt and its all shweshwe fabric. Finished 20 star blocks. All triangles joined and squared of to2 1/2 inch blocks. Going to use for sashing. Don't like wasting fabric. Also bought too little of the green fabric, will have to get a few more meters. So now l have to make a trip to Grahamstown to get some more.

Trying to stay sane!!!!

We are now starting with winter here and have had a few cold days lately but love it. Today is very windy. Having lots of issues with water supply!!!!!It seems that our municipality has not been giving attention to the pumps that pump water into our holder dam. Now its long weekend here and nobody wants to answer their phones. The huge question I always ask is where has the self pride in work whatever you do gone? Here is large communities that depend on water coming from the dam. Luckily I have water tanks here and we often have rain so they stay full. We are not dependent on the municipality.

I have not been doing much as I have some wrist pain and need to rest my hands a bit. Its  a bit bad as I am unable to lift things with my left hand. I am a lefty anyway and think that I have been picking heavy things up. Not easy as I have started another quilt and need to cut fabric but hands are too sore to press down on the rotary cutter.

Gee its so difficult to just sit around and not do much. I have been working on my owl slowly and taking breaks.

A new quilt that I have started but have to cut a lot of pieces still!

My sister sent me this cute snowball globe, which she put in a piece of check fabric, but was sadly damaged in the post.
I had to use it to make something beautiful anyway and decided to make a pincushion using everything.

Made this vinyl bag for a friend who was in our town this past week.

Also made a bag from a small piece of vinyl and will use it for keeping my
threads in.

Nature is so special!

Matthew grew this rose from a cutting. And now she is rewarding him for taking good care of her! Slowly l am getting the back stitching do...
