Neils Quilt'!!!!!!!

This is the first block of the next row in Neil's quilt. All done by paper piecing and hand stitching.
I have another 20 of these to make. Well this is the last huge quilt I am making for a while.
I found this lovely block on the Quilters Cache website and it is for free!!!!

So much happening here!!!

There was a special sale at Head's and I just had to get myself a lovely cute dragon. Going to be a pillow for my favorite chair.
Matthew our grandson also had a win with his swimming.
A huge congrats.
This is a block for my next row in my newest quilt. A disappearing triangle and very easy to make.
Well here is a snippet in our local newspaper Talk of the Town and its a picture of the quilt that was made by our Kowie Quilters and it was  my special technique that we used to each make a block. Donated to local Child Welfare.

Real miniture

This mini quilt was something l really needed to do. Just had to make something small using fabrics. Having withdrawal symptoms not using fabrics. Think too much embroidery is causing it. The small square in a circle is 3cm and the total size is 11cm square. Somebody gave this tiny a name, it's called "Oops". Such a cute name don't you agree? Well still have to get some ordinary string in stead of the ribbon!

A Small Addition!!

I nearly forgot a small necessary addition a quilter always adds to a quilt and that is a spider and web. Its for good luck!  There are many such cute traditions in the quilting world that goes back many generations l am sure! Some of them long forgotten.

Block 22 done and block 23 nearly completed!!!

This is block 22 done

Just close up of a heart in block 22

This is a favorite of Benjamin our oldest grandson
and he just loves John Deere tractors
at this stage of his life! Must say
on second thoughts he has not swapped
his likes in life very much so far.

This is Liam the youngest grandson, favorite "Cars" also at this
stage of his life, which I am sure will change
a lot.

This is Matthews, which is the middle grandson
and his favorite at the moment,
before that it was snakes. I remember
that he loved frogs for many years
and also tortiouses and and, I am sure
that this will also change a lot.

This is the photo that I chose for the
crazy quilt. It was taken in Durban 2013.

Well now I am nearing the end of this journey I am very excited to say
that I now have only two more blocks left and then I will be joining the
whole lot together. I cannot believe that these have taken a lot of my time now for nearly three years now. But must add that this has taken my into my own life journey with lots of healing while embroidering away at the special blocks. The next stage will be joining them together and then embroidering over the blocks to make it into a whole quilt look. Also in the process my best friend Anna is going to help with the outlay as she has inspired me all the way through this journey and also thanks to her for all the inspiration behind making this crazy quilt.
