A needlecase for a friend.

This is a needlecase that our Potpouri group is busy with
and I just had to make it for a friend's birthday gift. Still
needs the needle holder but have to get some felt for that.
It is so cute as it has lots of pockets. This pattern is in
an Australian Patchwork and Stitching magazine.

Completed at last!!!

Have now completed this "Fairies in Shoeland.
Already started my next x stitch project.
Wait and see what it is?

Floods in this part of our country

This is a picture of the dam overflowing into the
Olifants River. The towns below the river had lots of
flooding and even Vredendal town was cut off for
a few days. We need this though so that the underground
water system can be filled up again. So now everything has
subsided the roads need urgent mending.

Matthew, our grandson

We have had a visit from our daughter and family
and it was like a few minutes in heaven having them around.
Matthew has become so cute and chatty, very friendly.
Here he is having a competition with the dogs to show their
tongues. So cute. Well they have arrived safely at their
workplace and now we are having a rest. He is a very busy
little guy. Even gets through the fence at times. Once he
got stuck and could not get his ears through so that was
the end of trying to escape.

My new cross stitch plans

I have a lot of sitting time still do do.
So I have now started these.
I like to change my work a bit,
as one could get bored working on
just one pattern at a time.
So I now have two x stitcheries I am
working on.
Still 3 weeks on crutches.

I have found this wonderful fairy

patterns for 12 months and have

completed the first one and now have

11 to go.

This is another fairy x stitch
that I have started it is called
"Fairies in Shoeland".

A Tribute to Blackie

This was the last picture of our
cat Blackie taken on the 2nd June 2008.
She was 21 years old and we had her put out
of her misery on the 3rd June 2008. She got to
old and had no life at all. It is such a sad time for
us after having her around for all that time was such fun
as she was a very proud lady, was pitchblack all her life
and turned grey from old age. Loved chocolates and
also icecream and anything the kids had to eat.
We will all miss her very much.

Another ufo completed!!!

I have finished another cross stitch picture.

I started this in December 2007 on our trip to

visit our daughter in Namibia.

I am in awe to how everything comes together and

how the colors blend so well. Then finishing it with the

black thread makes it look so cute.

Thank you too all who design these cross stitch pattern.

My Dad!!

Dad passed away on the 15th May 2008 and at last
his suffering is over.

I have also had a knee operation and am recovering nicely.
I have 5 more weeks on crutches and then I will be able to get
back in the normal way of life.
Walking with these crutches are not for me. Was born clumsy. Thought
having an extra leg will work faster but no it is just plain terrible. hehehehe
I do get some work done though sitting around all day. Will post pictures soon.
Take care and hugs.
