A Scrap Challenge Quilt

This is my scrap challenge quilt and was said not to buy any new fabric to make the top.
Also when I finished cutting the small squares I was to just put them in a bag and take one block at a time and just sew together. Well this is the end product and I am very impressed with this scrap way of doing a quilt. I have always had themes and also colors to use, so its a first for me doing it this way. Now just to sandwich and quilt it.

Well l finished the top at last. I am working on my next cross stitch sal ( stitch a long) with a group of friends. The Sewing Room by Joan Elliott.

Some finishes and sad news

Finished this Magic Dragon designed by Joan Elliott.

My Angel of Cross Stitching also designed by
Joan Elliot, which uses 391 dmc colors, is now completed.
will be washed and framed next year.

And the very sad news is that we have lost a wonderful neighbor and also a very special
friend last week. Okkie Maas was a much loved person here in Clanwilliam.
He was an English teacher and was loved by most of his students. It was a privilege
to have known him.

Special happenings in our life!!!

Grandson Neil was christened 25th October 2015 and this
is my daughter Natascha and her family.

Well Neil, 7 months old, just fitted into his christening suite that Grandmother Linda
bought for him so Natascha removed the shirt and this cute
Chippendale appeared

Qubby (quilters husband) also now has his very own computer centre at last
and enjoys playing games for hours.

I have also been cross stitching on my Angel of Cross Stitching and now just have the wing and back stitching to go. Getting to finish her by the year end.

Update on our pawkids!!!
Lucky, nearly a year old, has settled in and is such as pleasure to have around.

Coco, 5 months old now, is growing so fast and is really such a mischief
around the garden well whats left of the garden!
Together they are such fun to have around.
Have started to get used riding in the car and going for
long early morning walks. Have to get rid of all the energy.

A bit of Cross Stitching

I have been doing a lot of cross stitching lately which is my favorite hobby at the moment. Just sitting and stitching away. It takes lots of quiet time with all the counting and also this Angel of Cross Stitching has 391 different DMC colors. but am getting lots done. Have the hands face hair and wings to complete. Think I will finish this by the end of the year.
