I have just spent some time reading an interesting blog, timquilts.com and all of us quilters should read his blog.
I have been spending the morning here filling in insurance forms and have been pondering about the quilts I have
made and what their value would be, not that I want to sell any. I make quilts just for me and myself. hehehehe
although daughter has a few, and have more requests in the pipeline. I have been wondering if there are any insurance
companies in South Africa that has an appraiser. Also mention in his blog is whether a quilt is art or just bedding. Well reading his blog I tend to think its both because to me its my way of decorating my home and also keeping the family warm.
Back to my creative works of art.
Am a quilter, crafter which includes embroidery, beading, crochet and knitting. Just love keeping myself busy with crafty things.

Now that is something that I have never thought of. I will look at my quilts in a different way now.
Yes, you are corret- there are art quilts and comfort quilts, decorative quilts etc. Love that crazy patch.
In Australia, the Quilters Guilds etc will value quilts. Definitely some are mainly for warmth - but some are purely decorative.
