Embroidery and and busy!!!

Have been very busy these past few days.
I have now started my stashbag for all my wool that I am using for a project and this bag will have to have a lining otherwise I will loose all my crochet hooks.
Embroidery inspiration has also struck home and am now busy trying to get some more blocks done. These pieces have come out very nice and even got a border or two done today. I have added some beads to my gloves and now they look really great to me. Very antique-ish.

A very sad day for us yesterday!!!!

We have had a very sad day yesterday, 22nd July 2013.
Our wonderful family dog Zazu is with us no more. She had a collapse of both hips and
could not walk anymore and also the heart was very weak. So on this sad note I want to say
Thank You for your unconditional love and happiness that you brought into our lives.
There is a huge open space in our lives now. R.I.P Dear Zazu.

More embroidery!!!

Added more threads around the flowers

Just love Mauve lately

Still working on this one

More seams added. to the centre

I don't have any new news about Zazu she is being treated for her hips, and will have to wait till Tuesday when we see the vet again to make a decision. She does not seem to have any more pain though!

I have been stitching away with lots of inspiration and nearly done with nr 18 or is it nr 17, well I am getting to be nearer to 25 blocks every day and this thought is keeping me going.

More embroidery!! and some sad news!!

I have really had lots of fun today with all this embroidery.
I am very lucky that qubby (quilting husband) decided to make us a lovely hot lunch.
It is winter here and it was rainy all day and just the right day to get me going on with the
embroidery that was not going very fast, well not fast enough for me.
Now I have nearly finished another block and I am over the halfway mark and that is
very inspiring for me as my aim is to get the embroidery done by the end of the year.

On a sadder note, my moms dog 'Vlekkie' has come to the end of the line for her after more than 15 years of a lovely life. Now there is only us girls left and my sister is not doing too great. She has had such a hard time these last few years and also has survived cancer. I am praying for her to recover but that does not seem to be the case this time round. She has a tumor in her neck and its growing into the spinal column and the previous treatment got it to shrink back. Then she got the same in both her legs and that was treated and that treatment turned sour and put in to bone cancer and heading to the bone marrow. Well after a very new very difficult cancer treatment she was cleared and now the tumor is back with a bang and growing again. I was hoping that she would come and live here in our small town so that I can take care of her but she regards it as too boring for her. So now I have to come to terms with her choice which is very difficult for me.
So now I need to get back to see how our dog Zazu is doing, she is also not great, and will be going to the vet tomorrow to see what is wrong with her. She is the cream or tan labrador. The black one is Bella and is a crossed labrador with ridgeback. They have become like sisters and have not been seperated for ages. So we will not run ahead and see what happens tomorrow.

Some interesting reading about Quilts

I have just spent some time reading an interesting blog, timquilts.com and all of us quilters should read his blog.
I have been spending the morning here filling in insurance forms and have been pondering about the quilts I have
made and what their value would be, not that I want to sell any. I make quilts just for me and myself. hehehehe
although daughter has a few, and have more requests in the pipeline. I have been wondering if there are any insurance
companies in South Africa that has an appraiser.  Also mention in his blog is whether a quilt is art or just bedding. Well reading his blog I tend to think its both because to me its my way of decorating my home and also keeping the family warm.
Back to my creative works of art.

Having fun visiting!

Daughter brought me my favorite Red Roses

Matthew sleeping with his old baby sitter, Zazu
the cream Lab and Ziquenya the new babysitter near
his head and under the blanket, because she does
not have the nice thick fur like the labrador.

Bedtime fun with grandpa, Matthew and grandma.

What? Busy in this small town and babysitting.

Wow we have been so busy this past week,
We have also been in an accident and luckily no one got hurt, well maybe the other party as their van was a write off. hehehe well why am I laughing,? Its the local traffic officer that was driving the other vehicle. And now getting the insurance to get our poor bakkie repaired is a nightmare to say the least. Its been 2 weeks and we have only just yesterday heard from them. Well I got them going.
The Daughter and her family have come for a visit,
but left the dog here because they are visiting friends who live in a flat and also to go shopping.
I never thought that dogbaby sitting would be so hectic.
She's, Ziquenya the antipoach dog of Ubizane, really so sweet but has separation anxiety when her master is not around.
Well at least we have got her calmed down. Now Tonic the cat is upset because Ziquenya is forever putting her nose in Tonics face. Well the end is Ziquenya gets a hit of a very fast paw and then barks back which upsets our old ladies Bella and Zazu and we have to get everyone calmed down but was able to chase them outside to play.

When are you coming home? Ziquenya
watching to see when her people
are coming to get her.

Tonic not happy with the tv arrangement,
wanting her place on hubby's legs.

I am so lucky, I had this made at our local
Lumber City and this is for all my DMC and other threads
and yes I have all their colors and got tired of the
plastic holders and now this is all nice and neat.

Finished Natascha's throw now just have to work all the
threads away.

On a sadder note we were in an accident and hubby's heart
is now very sore, we are having a hard time
getting the insurance all sorted out. grrrrr

And one happy comfortable dog Ziquenya relaxing in the sun.

Just daily life and pets!!

Well Qubby(that is
the combination of a Quilters Husband) decided
that we needed
a new Lounge Suit and here
it is. I wanted a 3 seater instead of
the 2x2 seaters but just loved the style of this
suit. So now we dont have to sit on the floor
(the old one was really very worn out)

And of course what would our home be
without all my lovely handmade items.
Tonic the cat is testing the couch.

This is Zazu whom has had a small operation
to remove 2 large fatty glands and the
one is there on her chest.

Here you can see the cut in the hind leg.
She just loves having photos taken and loves
to talk to the camera.

Zazu is now doing just great and is very pampered now and has taken a short walk around the neighbourhood to just see if all is well. Each gland was the size of a tennis ball. Well now nearly back to normal. Daughter and family, thats Matthew and their other dog will be visiting us next week and I am anxious to see how Zazu and Ziquenya(Weinmeriner - spelling is not correct) will react because they are both son in laws dogs. Am sure they will be able to get to a understanding. heheheheh!  Zazu was given to us because they were unable to take her with to Namibia. We just love her and when they returned to South Africa they did not have the heart to take her back because she and Bella (our dog, a crossed labrador) had become such close sisters.
