This is the second last
block of "Breast of Friends"
I am nearly finished with the
last one and then to put the
blocks together. I will do the
quilting when winter comes
because it is just too hot to work
with such a lot of fabric and batting
in summer.

Friday 24 December 2010

We went to see my Stepmom and
sister and family at Club Mykonos
near Langebaan and dont you think
this donkey named Chester is so cute.
I think he would have eaten those lovely
flowers if his guide was not around.
Another block for "Breast of Friends"
from the Homespun mag.

This is one of my Sri Lanka embroidery
blocks also nearly done, just have some
embroidery and beading to do.
made myself a bag from some lovely

I have this perpetual calender and
change it every month. Hmmm
need some more Christmas decorations for
it.

tree and just love it. It fits so
comfortably onto of the bat
counter. Just need some lights now.
I also made a tree skirt for it this year.

This is my lounge light and
I have been stringing beads
and also made this Crystal
ball to hang here. Uhm
I see I need to do more beading

much more. It must look like
a snow covered light.

Well sad to say but it did not survive and died a
short time after Matts left for school.

Country Music Show

We had a fab time at the Bushman's Cave last night.
It was a country music show with Cheree and Tommy Dell.
Well I went just to see Cheree, she is great and her voice is
exactly the same on and off the stage. Tommy Dell well he is
getting old hehehehehe
Also had a great cowboy meal but most of all it was
with relaxing in the open night air with all the music around.

Friday 16 July 2010

Begining a new quilt

This is the first block of a new quilt that
I am doing. I have been collecting some
fabrics for it for sometime now. As you all
know the collecting takes time. hehehehe

This is what the block looks like when
all four sections are together.
It is from an American Quilt Mag
called Forest Wildflowers by
Deb Karasik and Janet Mednic
am not doing the quilt exactly
the same but will see where this one
takes me.

Monday 12 July 2010

Blocks together!!

These blocks were a swap (2008) from my
Australian friends and it was great fun and
very interesting. I just love them all.
At last I have them joined and now for
the quilting and binding. At last!!!!!!!

Tuesday 6 July 2010

More finishes!!!

I finished these two stitcheries from Willowberry designs today.
At last I have got time to just sit infront of the fire place and stitch.
It was great. I am now up to date with this bom and am hoping to
get another bom done tomorrow but dont think so as it has lots of
needleturn applique, which I just love to do.

Friday 18 June 2010

Thursday 17 June 2010

Completed these!!!

This is a ice cream container cover
that I made. The pattern is in our
local craft magazine "Stitches"

Our sewing group "Potpourrie"
did the colorwheel in class today
and it was great fun working
with so much color and fabrics.
No its not me in the picture.

Sunday 13 June 2010

Completed!!!!

This is the bottom part of a creative project
that I have been working on for a long time
and just recently been motivated by another
member of our stitching group to get it done.
It took me 2 full days of stitching to finish but
love how it came out. I have moved out of my
box of stitching just neat little stitches and
did this one free style and very rough and loose.

Another block for Under the Sea completed.

Saturday 5 June 2010

just because!!!

I belong to a sewing group which seems to have changed for the better.
Now I have been thinking heheheheh here we go again!!!! and also realized
that the group is as good as its leader or convenor is.
There was a stage that I did not feel all that welcome but since the
new very capable person has joined this group it seems to be growing.
I also feel that all of us have started to become great friends because of
the convenor encompasing all our personalities which is so different
except for the interest in stitching. That is what a group is all about
accepting all persons and accommodating their personalities.
Now I have completed this block for my pumkin wallhanging:

Thursday 27 May 2010

Few finished things.

I have now finished hand quilting Mr Rooster
and it came out just lovely and now for
the bindings.

Here is my latest completed project
It is a sewing box bag for when I need
to take my sewing machine to group
because I am scared it gets damaged
when moving it. This is the inside

And here is what it looks like on the outside.
Just cute dont you think.
